Join SEE Turtles on a unique volunteer tour to beautiful Belize.
You’ll spend five nights on St. George’s Caye, where you’ll participate in research with sea turtles, dolphins, and manatees. In addition, you’ll explore colourful reefs and marine protected areas including the beautiful Hol Chan Marine Reserve.
You’ll assist with sea turtle surveys where you’ll conduct in-water surveys to analyze sea turtle populations and diversity at Gallow’s Point. You can also look forward to manatee surveys in which you’ll observe them from a boat, record their sounds, and take images with a drone and camera.
Other surveys you’ll take part in include:

Dolphin surveys – documenting behavior, abundance, distribution.

Conch surveys – studying populations to ensure fishery is not depleting numbers.
An optional 2 night extension offers the opportunity to go cave tubing and rainforest hiking and visit the incomparable Tikal National Park in Guatemala. This trip will be led by marine mammal expert Eric Ramos. Profits from this trip will help to save at least 200 hatchlings at a turtle nesting beach per participant.
